I am a British national living near Nottingham in the UK.
My education was at Burton Boys Grammar School where I worked very hard to become selected for
the English National Rowing crew. My studies continued after this and I attained several “O levels”
including Maths and English.
My first job was as a Land Surveyor and Cartographer and I studied at Nottingham University (part
team). I soon found that my real career was in Sales. After some time working my way up the ladder I
became a Divisional Manager at LG Harris & Co, here I managed a muti-national team dealing mainly
with large supermarket chains both in the UK and Europe. I had personal responsibility for Central and
Eastern Europe and I worked extensively throughout this region eventually winning an award in 2015
for Trade Development in European Markets issued by Council of British Chambers of Commerce in
I was also part of the Management team which oversaw the takeover of LG Harris by the Norwegian
multi-national company Orkla.
Whilst working for LG Harris (now part of the Orkla group) I taught at the Harris Academy where the
aim was to educate staff from other departments on the challenges faced by my own department. This
to help facilitate better inter departmental understanding and smoother interactions.
Another part of my role was to give regular presentations to customers in countries such as China,
Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, sometimes working in conjunction with the UK Government.
My approach to English language teaching is to create a fun and engaging atmosphere where the fear
and anxiety is taken away, this way the experience of learning English is stress free and productive.
I my spare time I like to cook, walk with my 3 dogs and watch Italian TV. I have also been renovating a
medieval house in Italy for the last 15 years.
